Immigrant Workers Bringing Parasitic Brain Infection to US

Immigrant food handlers with poor hygiene are exposing Americans to the eggs of a tapeworm that causes a parasitic brain idisease called neurocysticercosis.  The larvae of the tapeworm form cysts in the spinal cord and brain, which can lead to seizures or death.  The disease has been a growing problem in states that border Mexico but is beginning to spread to the rest of the country.
