According to illegal immigrant Juan Antonio Amendano, he heard a woman screaming one night so he went to investigate. He found a stranger, illegal immigrant Joel A. Romero, attempting to rape a woman. Amendano did not assist the woman or call for help–instead he held her down as Romero raped her.
Neighbors who heard the screams called police. When Amendano heard sirens, he ran away but was captured. Police say they caught Romero in the act of raping the woman.
Romero is in court demanding a fifth attorney.
