The city council of Farmers Branch, Texas, had previously passed an ordinance preventing housing rentals to illegal immigrants. Opponents forced it to a referendum in order to stop it, but voters approved the ordinance with a 68% to 32% landslide. The losers, who had previously demanded the vote by the people, now say they will oppose the measure in court. City Councilman Tim O’Hare promised to support the law all the way to the Supreme Court.
