VA Tech Prevented Students from Defending Themselves

Virginia Tech prevents students from carrying guns on campus even if they are legally licensed to do so. In 2005, Virginia House Bill 1572 would have allowed students with handgun permits to carry their weapons on campus. When the bill died, the VA Tech spokesman praised the defeat, saying:

I’m sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly’s actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus.
