Illegal immigrant Christian Omar Pacheco-Torres says he shot and killed Fabricio Orellana while Orellana’s daughter watched. Pacheco-Torres says he killed the man for $2,000 in a deal he made with the victim’s wife, who he met at a Sonoco Corrflex plant where both worked.  Some time after the murder, Pacheco-Torres fled to the border where he was caught and linked to the murder charge by a fingerprint check.

Illegal immigrant Pastor Rios Sanchez is accused of speeding and driving drunk when he allegedly killed 16-year-old Ben Leonard, 18-year-old Jennifer Carter and 22-year-old Megan Hughes in a car wreck.

Under a plea deal to be offered by Assistant District Attorney Mike Beam, most charges would be dropped, Sanchez would plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and would be sentenced to no more than 16 to 20 months in prison per count. With 10 months off for time served, that could work out to a sentence of a little more than 3 years or 1 year and 20 days per murder.
